Ex-St Louis Public Service rail grinder 215, built by SLPS in 1945 shown on November 29 2002. It has an interesting history. SLPS's original rail grinder 215 was a converted streetcar built in 1892. After World War II SLPS built this car to replace it, and gave the old grinder to the Museum of Transportation. Two decades later, when all streetcar service ceased, they gave the new one to MoT also - thereby bestowing the museum with two different generations of rail grinder 215.
